A huge landmark for this blog! – Tola Adenle

This morning, Yoruba Engagement Aṣọ Òkè reached 9,000 – nine thousand – viewership!

Check out how these Yoruba textiles and other Yoruba-related essays have muscled their ways to the top of essays on the blog.  Over a thousand checked out the market days for Aṣọ Òkè at Oje in 2013.  I did not plan it that way but I welcome and accept it with open arms.

Many thanks to wordpress.com that continues to dazzle with impressive array of services for very little payment: I know where the thousands of readers who have discovered my blog come from and I know what subjects are the most popular just as I know the names of those who make it a duty not just to read the essays but who also tarry to submit comments.  By the way, if you are new here, I respond to most comments to show my own positions on issues, and as you will discover, this blogger is no fence-sitter.

Thanks to all of you.

Yoruba engagement aso oke reaches 9000 viewership

This is how it got to the landmark.

“Yoruba Engagement Aṣọ Òkè” reaches three thousand viewership! – Tola Adenle

August 21, 2013

On March 12, 2013, this blog reached a first for a single post:  Yoruba Engagement Aṣọ Òkè earned emotanafricana.com its first thousand viewership, and with other titles on Yoruba textiles, textile technology and Aso Oke for various occasions and from different eras flexing their historical and social muscles, the idea that an area of my blog had hit pay dirt – so to say – came to me.

Yesterday, August 20, 2013 and a little over five months after the first milestone, the same title reached the three thousand (3,000) mark, a gap of well over a thousand difference between it and its two closest rivals 1,163 and 1,112.

Yoruba Engagement Aṣọ Òkè was first posted on October 29, 2012.  It is noteworthy that the essay – just like many on this blog – continues to attract readership long after initial publication.

Thanks to my thousands of readers from around the world.  Just yesterday, there was another first:  Tanzania sent 36 readers on a single day, and following a trend of some new discoverers of the blog hanging on to see what it’s all about, seven (7) of those 36 (I like to imagine) OR seven new ones … are already there as early as 5 a.m. [GMT] today!

Thanks to everybody, and my thanks, as always, to wordpress.com.
