Elsewhere, this smoke will be enough, he will go or be pushed … in Nigeria 2016…will he join Saraki in sitting tight? Let us see what happens! tao

      Dear Mr. Tao,

Nigeria is not like “elsewhere”, Mr. Tao, where people take pride in good names and their places in history or – ho, hum – where the quest for their homeland rising to be counted among countries that have risen above their past.

Unfortunately, therefore, we shouldn’t expect a raise-the-bar attempt on probity by these self-entitled political royalties of Nigeria’s real “federation”.

The guy would most probably follow the example of Saraki as you rightly suggest.

Meanwhile, the supposed war on corruption remains active, or is it, with an in-our-collective-face arrogance that is beyond belief.

      Sincere regards,
      TOLA.

Here comes the bi-i-i-ig test for President Buhari and his administration of change, in which there should be no sacred cows!

In the interest of his credibility he should order EFCC to investigate this issue swiftly. IF the report is true, that the second property was bought 11 days after his appointment, this amounts to a slap in the face of the President and also smacks of impunity, insensitivity and indiscretion on the part of the Chief of Army Staff. But the report needs to be proven right first.

Those old enough will recall that Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi, a most noble and golden Army Officer, a man of very high level of integrity, wisdom, good sense, a quintessential Ọmọlúwàbí, who, as a man of honour and conscience, chose to be assassinated with his host, Major-General Aguiyi-Ironsi in July 1966,stopped work on the personal house he was building as soon as he was appointed the military governor of the Old Western Region, to avoid even the mere suspicion or insinuation that he was building the house from government funds.

That was a noble, refined, selfless Officer of the Nigerian Army, a true Nigerian son.

    When comes another?

      Dear Sis.,

The real “acid test” – if I may borrow an idiomatic expression.

The guy already got cleared by the army, I guess, or why the press conference from the army about how Buratai supposedly “saved” … and how the revelations are mere “campaign of calumny”?

Most who actually voted for Buhari – at least in Southwestern Nigeria after rejecting him multiple times did so -because, pardon me, to borrow words used over and over by me in write-ups – “he’s the only one who can slay the corruption monster”.

And how come that over and over again, persons being named to most top government positions are now from the North?

I could never imagine the situation the country is under Buhari: apparent deaf ears to the murderous Fulani herdsmen who are being set up to annex Southern Nigeria land through the so-called “grazing reserves”; dismissal of a need for urgent convocation of a National Conference, et cetera.

      Greetings, Ma.
      TOLA.
