Where are Huckabee & belligerent Republicans on Trump’s cabinet if Obama’s was “so much testosterone so little estrogen” …? – Tola Adenle

USA

President Obama had barely been sworn in for his first term when Senator Mitch McConnell announced that the Republicans’ “top priority in the next two years is to make Obama a one-term president …”

Well, they blocked his policies, fillibustered hundreds of times among other firsts for presidents that stood in the way of just about all Obama’s policies but the American people gave Obama a more resounding victory for a second term than the first.

The nitpicking and unnecessary hell-raising where none was called for went to ridiculous extents, the point of this post and reminder of the partisanship and, if truth be told, outright racism that greeted Obama’s every step during his 8-year presidency:

Accusing Obama of waging a “war on women” in his cabinet in January 2013, Mike Huckabee, a church minister/pastor, whose daughter, Sarah Huckabee Sanders is now one of Trump’s White House spinmeisters, said:

How come there is so much testosterone in the Obama Cabinet and so little estrogen?

The pastor’s deep-seated hatred of Obama was so apparent, surprisingly, for a man who probably preached love from pulpits, when he criticized the President and the First Lady for “exposing” the two young Obama girls for being to Beyonce’s songs!

Insane?

Here are his actual words:

The Obamas “are excellent and exemplary parents in many ways,”

“That’s the whole point. I don’t understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything – how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school and making sure they’re kind of sheltered and shielded from so many things – and yet they don’t see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyoncé, who has sort of a regular key to the door” of the White House.”

Yes, the deep-seated hatred, the racism … are all in there:

  • How dare Sasha and Malia look up to Beyonce?
  • How dare Beyonce, ANOTHER African-American like POTUS & FLOTUS, is welcome at The White House?
  • How dare … how dare … how dare … a black man at The White House?

GOP’s Mike Huckabee Questions the Obamas’ Parenting of Sasha and Malia

Huckabee, McConnell, et al were not the lone guardians of America’s morals, social norms and political interests that America’s first African-American president and his family were apparently polluting.

In January 2013, Huckabee’s fellow travellers at no-pretence-at-not-being-racist website, salon.com wondered aloud: “Does Obama have a diversity problem” also in reference to cabinet appointment.

Now, those voices have suddenly gone mute because those eyes have refused to see that the current president from their party DOES –

  • have “a diversity problem”;
  • has “waged a war on women” since his campaign.
The following shows the numbers of male whites in the first cabinets of presidents since Reagan
Donald J. Trump – 17; Barack Obama – 8; George W. Bush -11; Bill Clinton – 10; George Bush – 12; Ronald Reagan – 17.

Women & minorities in the first cabinet of each president

Donald J. Trump – 5; Barack Obama – 14;
George W. Bush – 9; Bill Clinton – 12; George Bush – 5, and Ronald Reagan – 2.
Women in cabinet positions
Donald J. Trump – 4; Barack Obama – 7; George W. Bush – 4; Bill Clinton – 6; George Bush -2; Ronald Reagan – 1.
Minorities in cabinet positions
Donald J. Trump – 3; Barack Obama – 10; George W. Bush – 6; Bill Clinton – 8; George Bush – 3; Ronald Reagan – 1.
If “diversity” means variety, multiplicity, mixture, et cetera, and if the Huckabees and salon.coms of America’s world were ranting and raving about Obama’s appointees four years ago, they should be up in arms now with a member of their own party whose cabinet-level appointments and others fit their non-issue as far as Obama was concerned.
In fact, in the reference below that shows that “Trump’s Cabinet So Far Is More White and Male Than Any First Cabinet Since Reagan’s”, it is apparent that Democrats Clinton and Obama scores higher than their Republican counterparts in making more diversified appointments.
