“Having said that, I am pleased that I am back. I am pleased that the Vice President enjoyed this break and he has to do much more this time around,” Buhari said.
“Youthfulness and intellect are squarely behind him while age and purely military experience are behind me.
“Let us continue to do the work. Nigeria will continue whether we are here or not.”
Despite his illness which shows in his gaunt look and gait after disembarking from the helicopter, video of which had security agents trying to help him as he seemed to lose his balance – help that the retired General quickly did away with – President Buhari’s brief address to members of the Federal Executive Council, heads of security agencies and some state governors shortly after his arrival to the country show the basically-decent human being that Nigerians who voted massively for him in 2015 have always known.
We all wish him the very best as he seems to be on the mend, much better than we had all feared.
