P–ing on Nigeria’s Constitution, again: Dying Yar Adua made SGF Yayale, President while ailing Buhari names his VP “coordinator of nation’s affairs” – Tola Adenle

Nigeria

Nigerians can now all see that Saraki is doing the job for which the tons of allegations against him for all his alleged crimes at the EFCC was just optics – theater – as far as Buhari’s supposed war on corruption is concerned.

From the tons of materials dumped out by Wikileaks, the sordid matter of travesty during Late President Yar Adua’s terminal illness that almost took Nigeria to its ever wobbly-knees was one of the subjects among the WIKILEAK CABLES between the US Embassy in Nigeria to the State Department in Washington.

Turai Yar Adua, wife of then President Yar Adua, as well as a few people headed by Yayale (or may be it was Turai actually in charge) took over the running of the country, passing Vice-President Jonathan.

We all thought that type of unconstitutional travesty was gone for ever, but while President Buhari may be seriously ill, he wasn’t wheeled out as on death-bed when he left Nigeria for “further medical treatment” Sunday night, May 6, 2017. But he is sick enough to be incapacitated to carry on the role for which he was elected, a situation foreseen not only in Nigeria’s Constitution but perhaps in most around the world.

Now, it seems deja vu all over again with Buhari designating VP Ọṣibajo with a brief to “coordinate nation’s affairs”!

What exactly is “coordinating” Nigeria’s affairs mean? Is there a position known in the Constitution as that?

After Bukola Saraki, the senate president, Senator Ohabunwa,  (PDP, Abia North), said it was not proper to name the vice president “coordinator” of the nation’s affairs, he was reportedly ruled out of order by Mr. Saraki.

Nigerians can now all see that Saraki is doing the job for which the tons of allegations against him for all his alleged crimes at the EFCC  was just optics – theater – as far as Buhari’s supposed war on corruption is concerned.
