Nigeria’s coming apocalypse, 2 of 2?: Retd. Lt.-General Danjuma’s ominous warning & army deserter Sgt. Bako’s claim of N80m govt complicity on Dapchi Girls abduction – Tola Adenle

General

After church service today and after the usual late Sunday breakfast, the first mail I opened was from an older friend, a “Sister” who had sent a reply to my acknowledgement of the prayer she had sent earlier to me and many others on behalf of Leah, the Dapchi girl still in captivity.

Leah had reportedly refused to renounce her Christian faith, hence her continued captivity.

I had earlier mentioned in discussion with others that this latest “kidnap” is strange to me … Here is part of the brief response to my Sis:

I saw a headline which implies Leah may not be the only one still being held, and sad to say that I did not believe the story of RELEASE when it was announced. Buhari’s desperation for another term – and … have to do with it, I’m sure.

About two hours after I had sent above, I received the two links below: retired General Danjuma’s wake-up call to Nigerians and a Sgt. Bako’s claim published by Daily Globe Watch.

While none can vouch for the veracity of the Sgt. David Bako’s claim in Paris to dailyglobewatch.eu, retired Lt.-General Danjuma is known to Nigerians as not generally flippant nor ever speaking out of turn.

The issue raised by Danjuma is very serious and it’s one that has featured continuously on Fulani herdsmen, lack federal character in “federal” appointments that see ALL heads of security apparatus in the country coming from a part of the country, et cetera.

Danjuma’s words as carried by The Punch are not ones that can be kept mute about by Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari as he’s done on the various matters that have now led to these converging gradual near-climax.

Here is an excerpt of Danjuma’s words at the maiden Convocation of Taraba State University. Buhari must SPEAK and ACT now! Too many Nigerians have lost their lives in what the retired General has aptly called ethnic cleansing to allow the travesty to continue, and the Dapchi story would be a real tragedy if innocent girls are being sacrificed to be raped and abused for the heinous political farce that Nigeria has become.

When Chibok happened, it was bizzarre that truckloads of girls would be driven out of town and through Nigerian roads that are always policed to the extreme. Now, when this was announced, millions like this blogger knew it could not have happened without at least a security agency being in the now but only a deranged person would ever dream of the kind of story that Sgt. Bako has fled the country to tell. It cannot be; it must not be true.

A former Minister of Defence and an elder statesman, Lt. Gen. Theophilus  Danjuma (retd.), on Saturday, told Nigerians to defend themselves against killers in the country, saying  the armed forces were not ready to defend them.

Danjuma made the call while speaking at the maiden convocation of the Taraba State University, Jalingo, and the 10th anniversary of the institution.

The former Chief of Army Staff stated, “I am not a politician and politics is one profession I don’t want to belong to because if I am a politician, I will not say what I am going to say to you now.

“When I arrived in this arena, I saw rich cultural display and I was amazed at the rich cultural heritage of our people. Taraba is a mini Nigeria with diverse ethnic groups living together peacefully, but the peace in this state is under assault.

“There is an attempt at ethnic cleansing in the state and of course, some rural states in Nigeria. We must resist it. We must stop it. Every one of us must rise up.

“Our Armed Forces are not neutral. They collude with the bandits to kill people, kill Nigerians. The Armed Forces guide their movements; they cover them. If you are depending on the Armed Forces to stop the killings, you will all die one by one.

“This ethnic cleansing must stop in Taraba State and other rural states of Nigeria otherwise Somalia will be a child’s play.

“I ask every one of you to be alert and defend your country, defend your territory and defend your state. Defend yourselves because you have no other place to go. God bless our country.”
