NIGERIA Xtian massacre: “As a Christian, exonerate yourself from killing of Christians …”, Benue Catholic Bishop to Nigeria’s Vice-President

May 21, 2018

Nigeria

The killings of Christians all over Nigeria by Fulani herdsmen, including other terrorist acts by the group such as burning churches, destroying farmlands have continued unabated, acts that all Christians pray about at weekly services. As bad as things are, President Buhari’s administration has seemingly ignored the carnage by failing to address these grave dangers to the country’s fabric.

While the killings and rampage by the herdsmen continue to happen all over the country, Benue State is among Middle Belt States with minority ethnic groups that have been particularly hit.

It was after another mass killings that Nigeria’s vice president, Professor Yemi Osibajo, visited Benue State and met community leaders, including a Bishop, as well as the state’s governor. TOLA ADENLE.

“The point I’m trying to make is that a day is going to come when you, as the vice-president, will bear the brunt of that problem of injustices in our land, especially those perpetrated on smaller ethnic groups that have no one to fight for them. So, as a Christian person, exonerate yourself from this situation.” –

Williams Avenya, Catholic Bishop of Gboko, Nigeria’s Benue State.
